Claude was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1940 to Germaine & Felix Mifsud. At two, he tragically lost his Mum to pneumonia leaving his Dad as a single parent. His beloved aunt stepped in as Mum, who he always described as gentle and kind. Claude loved to study and was very excited when he started to study medicine. Sadly, his Father passed away very suddenly when Claude was 19 from peritonitis, which forced him to leave his studies behind and start to work.
He embarked on a new love, cars. Claude bought and sold cars, successfully. In the years that followed he met his future wife Mary. They knew each other as children, playing on the beach. They bumped into each other years later. They married in 1968 in Athens, Greece, moved to England, and settled in London. Their children Natalie and Laurence soon followed. Years later, he was proud to become Grandad to Patrick, Abigail, and Olivia.
Claude had a successful career in the banking world, progressing up the ranks rapidly. A man who was very well respected in the financial world, leading him to become a financial advisor, and working on complex fraud cases which he enjoyed so much he continued till his early 70's.
Behind closed doors, in addition to continuing his interest in finances he also enjoyed reading & painting. He really had quite the talent.
Claude was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2007. He fought a tough battle with absolute determination and strength which is why it is only fitting we are now raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Any donations will be truly appreciated.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love and support we have received during our very difficult time, it has been so appreciated.
Much love, Natalie & Laurence x
Here are some facts that show how important it is to support our chosen charity. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,500 men every year. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
My sincere and deepest condolences to all your family. This is such a lovely tribute and Prostate Cancer UK is a wonderful charity. With love always. Marios xxx
Thinking of you all & sending lots of love x
